First off, I’d like to thank you all for the overwhelming amount of positive feedback I got on my new hairstyle. I’m enjoying it so far. I was really nervous about what you guys were going to say about this. Again, thank you all so much for your kind words and support. For the last year that I have been blogging, I have discovered so many things about my self. Most are physical attributes (discovered these through pictures!) and also how much I can push myself. If you have been following me for a while you’d notice that I’m always wearing sunglasses with my outfits. 80% of the time it’s because of the sun and the rest is due eye “issues”. I started noticing under eye bags on pictures but didn’t see them when I looked in the mirror.

Today you might be wondering why my glasses are off, I have been using an eye cream by Bobbi Brown which has been a life saver. I tell you, to get to this point I had to go through a lot of disappointments which turned into learning experiences. The problem I had right out of the gate was thinking that I was going to find an eye cream that will instatatenously erase the bags, it doesn’t exist! (at least to me). I realized that most eye creams work as a long term treatment, you get to see the results after the skin underneath your eyes is well hydrated. I just wanted to share this with you in case there are some of you out there who are going through this struggle. Pick an eye cream and stick with it, the results will come later.

  1. Patience you look so good. I definitely love your new hairstyle. Great look too and I love the captoe shoes. I have been looking for a good eye cream, so I appreciate the suggestion. I went to Sephora and was so overwhelmed I could not decide on one.

  2. Oh totally can relate with what you are saying about discovering new things about oneself through blogging. But I dont think you have something to worry about… U are absolutely gorgeous… I love your style so much!

  3. I always love your pairings and you look lovely without the sunglasses! Not sure if it works, but there was some kind of new product I saw in the paper that’s supposed to instantly zap under eye bags. I think it was being sold at Walgreens? If I see it again, I’ll let you know as I’m sure this vague description does nothing for you ;)

  4. im going through the same transformation with my hair as well. When you go for a long time with weaves and extention, you kind of forgort what your real hair is like and can be a daunting process. i cut my hair as well at first i was unsure but now im embracing who i am and loving my real hair, and i have to say its damn liberating and i dont know why i waited so long.

  5. Oh my gosh, hon…YES the hairstyle, I will reiterate, is incredible. It suits your style perfectly and looks amazing on your face. You really made a wise choice there :) And also with this outfit…the textures are great together.

  7. Such a cute outfit and that pop from the earrings!! I’m kinda obsessed with denim and leather lately and just bought a few of that from the stores today. I have to say, I’m really diggin’ the new do a lot. You look so good with it!

With regards to the eye cream, I too have tried bobby brown from a rec from my makeup person but after 2 months, I gave up. Maybe I should stick to it longer? How long did it take for you to see results?

And to answer your question, yes I make those skirts knee length as well. :)

  8. Hi! When I saw ur new hairstyle, I thought, “Very professional! I should tell her!’ and then before I could, you posted THIS – now I say “very sophisticated!” Love this look on you, my friend! Hey, it may even inspire me to actually get a haircut ;) Thanks for your good words, too, on the whole undereye *thing*

  9. You are inspiring me to search for a great leather pencil skirt! Thank you for the note about the eye cream. I’ve noticed that if I drink lots of water and follow a basic skin care routine, the results are dramatic. I am just lazy when it comes to drinking water. Count me as another fan of the new hair!
